Indigenous Cricket
The National Indigenous Cricket Championships is a week-long T20 tournament held in Alice Springs. It’s contested annually by First Nations players representing their state or territory, with seven men's and five women's teams competing in 2023. It is a pathway for elite players, as well as an important event for celebrating Indigenous culture and cricket.
As Cricket Australia’s Videographer, I joined the teams in the Northern Territory for over a week to produce multimedia content for the NICC. Teaming up with CA’s Social Media Manager and Media Manager, I was to film and edit player interviews, key tournament moments, matches, and cultural visits. We created content promoting awareness of the tournament, celebrating indigenous culture and profiling athletes’ stories and their love for the game.
I was responsible for:
Filming videos of the National Indigenous Cricket Championships
Editing videos for Cricket Australia’s social media, cricket.com.au and YouTube Channel.
Providing traditional media outlets with newsworthy video content.
